BATH:
To Feel Refreshed... Shower first, then fill tub with
lukewarm water. Squeeze juice from sliced lemons into the water
& toss the rinds in too. Soak in refreshing, lemon scented,
natural astringent water.
BATH SALTS: Pour 3 cups of Epsom salts into a metal or
glass bowl. In a separate cup mix 1 tablespoon of glycerin, (Sold
at drugstores) a few drops of food coloring (opt.) and some of
your favorite perfume. Blend well & slowly add it to the Epsom
salts, stirring until thoroughly mixed. Store in a sealed decorative
container & add to your bath water for a treat.
CHAPPED LIPS: Exfoliate with Scotch tape. Moisten lips, then
apply a strip of tape across them. Gently remove the tape & the
rough flakes should come off.
CLEANSE PORES: Form paste with 1 cup of cornmeal and 1 cup of
honey. Apply gently to your face and leave on for 1/2 hour. Rinse off
and pat dry.
CONDITIONER Use your hair conditioner to shave your legs. It's a lot
cheaper than shaving cream and leaves your legs really smooth.
FACIAL MASSAGE: Never massage a dry face. Always apply a
cream or lotion first. Always work upward & outward, using
long, smooth, circular strokes. Stop each stroke at a pressure
point such as the temple, the jaw hinge, between the eyes, the
center of your chin, or either side of the nostril.
PURGE YOUR PORES: Mix 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice with
a container of full-fat plain yogurt that is a week past it's expiration
date. Cleanse your face & apply a warm cloth to open pores. Then
smooth on the mask. Leave on for 20 minutes. Cover fingers with
almond oil & massage face in circular motions to bring the impurities
to the surface. Remove with warm, damp cloths.
LOCK IN MOISTURE: Once a week while your skin is still
damp from your shower or cleaning, put a good dose of night
cream on your face & lips. Then, using an artists paintbrush,
apply a warm paraffin mask. Leave on 20 minutes. Then peel off.
HAIR: Squeeze lemon juice in your hair during your rinse. It
removes soap film & oil & smells great!
SHINE: Nothing beats cold water as a final rinse to close hair
cuticles & make hair shine.
CURLY HAIR: Separate curls with your fingers... Try not to
comb it at all.
DRY HAIR: Add a teaspoon of oil to your conditioner for dry hair.
TO KEEP NAILS FROM SPLITTING: Always cut & file
nails with polish still on them. The polish acts as a cushion &
keeps the nail from splitting.
SMUDGE: Dab another finger in remover & rub it gently &
quickly over the damage. Follow with a clear top coat.
CHIP PROOF: Apply one coat of polish underneath the white
edge of your nail. This helps prevent chipping.
STAINED NAILS: Dissolve 2 denture cleaning tablets in 1/4
cup of water & dip your nails in it. Use a nail brush or toothbrush
& rub gently.
The softer & longer the bristles of a make-up brush are,
the sheerer the color that it applies.
REMOVE MAKE-UP: Use witch hazel to remove make-up & balance
the PH in your skin. Works great for sunburns too.
Colors can sometimes reflect the way we feel...
Whether it's in our clothing or our make-up.
Pale pinks & sheer mauves show your soft, romantic side.
For a more dramatic, daring aspect of your personality,
try deep burgundies & wines.
BREATHING: The more stressed out you are, the tighter you hold yourself.
(Tensed up.) If you breathe deeply, the oxygen will flow & you can think &
feel more clearly. Practice any of these exercises for a minute or two
throughout the day. Sit up with your head straight & your chin parallel
to the floor.
1. The Cleansing Breath: Inhale slowly through your nose, filling your
abdomen, lungs & chest. Then blow out through puckered lips till your
lungs are empty. Breath in again making your chest move like a
bellows. Repeat for several inhalations.
2. The Vitality Breath: Open your mouth wide, inhale deeply &
let the air out in a big "hahh." Repeat quickly a few times. Tingling
in your face or fingers is normal to the shifting levels of carbon
dioxide & oxygen. If you feel light-headed, breathe normally
through your nose. Use sparingly to avoid hyperventilation.
3. A Releasing Breath: Breath in deeply with your mouth open
& sigh out with your throat relaxed. Your upper back should
widen on the inhale & release on the exhale. It's natural to yawn
either during or after this exercise. It's simply your body correcting
the oxygen/carbon dioxide balance.
HOW TO DETECT A 2-WAY MIRROR
How can you determine if it is a 2-way mirror or not...
This is just to make you aware.
It is not meant to scare you.
This was passed on by a policewoman
who travels all over giving seminars for women.
There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors
in changing rooms, bathrooms, even hotel rooms.
Conduct this simple test!
Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface
& if there is a GAP between your fingernail & the image of the nail,
then it is a GENUINE mirror.
However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail,
then BEWARE!
IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR!
